And the perfect bandname for this time of the year: Spring Summer

Shoulder Showdown

Today this shoulder themed song (the do - on my shoulders) marks the last day of my absence from work due to shoulder stabilization. Now that I’ve learned how to not use my left arm, from tomorrow on I’m going to learn how to use it again. I suppose that is going to be interesting. What I also learned not to do is to work. I can barely remember it was something with computers and mobile devices. Nevertheless I’m pretty positive that the memories will be coming back once I’m sitting at my office desk. But I’ll see about that tomorrow. Today I’m going to spend watching the above video again and again until I can re-enact it by heart with LEGO.

Media Consumption Update

Now that I’m mostly occupied with making sure that I don’t move my left shoulder, I have some time to indulge in my passion for media consumption. What’s the outcome of this sublime activity?

Music

My latest find here is Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Pt II and it obviously happened due to the nineties hip-hop kid living inside of me. A long time after the glorious days of Wu-Tang’s 36 Chambers he was craving for an album that is both fresh and suitable to properly remember those days. Raekwon serves these needs surprisingly well.

Also surprisingly good is The Flaming Lips - Embryonic. I never paid much attention to them until now. This album is getting better and better each time I listen to it.

With Wavves - Wavvves I’m still struggling. UPDATE: no more! They’re great! It is very noisy for sure, but somehow I want to like it maybe just because of that. It’s some kind of a challenge. Also it could very well be only because there is an old school skateboarder on the cover…

The next album I’d like to buy(!) is Girls - Album. It’s coming out in Germany in two days and I like a lot what I’ve heard so far.

Film

Finally I watched MOON and think it’s good. Don’t miss the soundtrack!

Then I took the time to watch Into The Wild (it’s 2.5 hours long). I knew about the ending, but in spite of that and its length I didn’t feel bored and enjoyed the story. I think that’s supposed to mean something.

What I didn’t like is Louise hires a contract killer. It has a promising title and in the beginning the pitch-black humor really is entertaining. But I got used to it quickly and what was left was very weak story-telling.
